Happy Rainy Day!!

Ok Ok…  I was politely told I was slacking on my posts.

I didn’t want to be that crazy mom-to-be that made everyone else hear all the weekly details of her body and all the changes but…  here ya go!!!   =)

As of yesterday, I am now 18 weeks pregnant. My little “guy” now weighs about 7 ounces and is the length of a bell pepper.   I am able to feel “him” kick all of his 200 bones right now, but it’s still not strong enough for anyone else to feel it on the outside.  The first night I felt it, I had a pancake and nachos for dinner…  while I getting in bed falling asleep, it kicked me and it scared me so much that I got sick.    =)    But it was wonderful.

“His” little heart is now all the way formed with little chambers and everything. His ears are now working and can be startled if there is a loud noise. He could also detect light if it was shone on my belly.

We got only two more weeks to find out if it’s a boy or a girl… Can’t wait to hear the great news “It’s a Boy!!”   Keep sending me blue wishes!

Other great news this week…   I got a wonderful new position at work being able to keep myself busy and get to hang out with the ladies in the back!!  Also, I closed on my first ever owned house yesterday. Kinda sad but it’s a good step. Now I’m home-less!!   =)

Friday… Is it really you!!??!!

WOW! What a week we have had. I'm very much looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow, fingers crossed Cameron will let me. After three nights of achy muscles, a few stress induced crying sessions, and no “Mommy Time”… I needed a good laugh. Ok, being honest and a normal human being, I kinda just wanted someone to have a crazy moment so I wasn’t alone. I know that is not the nice thing to do or think, but honestly, it does help sometimes.

This morning, I left Cameron at home with Ben so they could go have a nice breakfast just the two of them and Ben could take Cameron to school in the “fat truck”. I was working away when I got a call from Ben about Cameron.

*Insert note here: Cameron is completely fine and no need to worry!!

Ben was in bed, waking up, and noticed the house was pretty quite. A little bit too quite. So he got up and didn’t see Cameron anywhere in the house. Ben finally found him outside riding his bike. We live on a dirt road out in the middle of the country, so there are no cars around. However, even though I laid out his clothes for him, Cameron followed the dogs out the doggy door without getting dressed. Ben found him wearing his warm bed time shirt and his underwear, no shoes, circling back around in the neighbor’s driveway.

Of course I asked first if he was ok, but after I knew Cameron was, I just started laughing. Can you just picture a little boy riding his bike down the dirt road in his underwear chasing the dogs!?!  Too cute.

Ben was very upset, and Cameron I’m sure got a good talking to… but I do think it is good for them both. It nice to know that Dad’s get a little bit of the craziness too. At least it made me smile a little.

Happy Friday!    =)

Morning Report!

My wonderful sister is currently sitting at work (very board I’m sure) and asked me to keep her entertained with a morning report of me and Cameron getting ready today.

BREAKING NEWS!!  I was told I need to go buy a pretty dress for me and a cool dress for Cameron because we are getting married tomorrow!!!   Everyone of course is invited to attend. Casual clothes are ok. There will be a race car cake after “we stand in front of everyone”.

Yes, the baby does get to have a piece of this cake as well.  (Insert Proud Mom Here)

I was so excited and starting giving my little man hugs and kisses… and while his arms were around my neck, he said “Mom, after we are married and I am five, I will be the best step-dad ever to you.” (Insert Crying Mom Here)

I told my husband about this after I got to work… and he was very puzzled, and said that can’t happen because you’re already married to someone!   =)   See, Ben is still a new daddy  and seemed a little bit jealous that I would tell my 4 year old I would marry him tomorrow. I just kept thinking “He loves me, he really loves me.” I think that is a movie quote but I don’t know which one. (Insert Proud Wife Here)

I feeling very loved by my boys and started off my day pretty dang good. Here’s to wishing it stays this way forever!!       =)         Love you sista!!

Blessed Little Moments….

What a Monday the Dacus’ had!! Our week didn’t start off for the best. During our crazy storm the night before, a very large tree limb decided to fall right on top of my husband’s brand new, two week old truck! That morning, I got my good bye kisses and listened for him to lock up on the way out…  but then I heard him all the way through the house when he saw his windshield busted and very very large dents in the truck. He was not very happy. Later when Ben got to work, a co-worker didn’t see his DVD player on the ground and ran out it.      I picked up Cameron from school and found out that after a very long weekend away from Mom, he forgot that hitting a teacher because she wanted him to take a nap was not ok!!   So we had to have that little talk all over again.  So, as you see, it was a rough day....

But that night when I was alone with the three boxer dogs in bed, I just kept thinking happy thoughts. Thinking the truck and DVD players can be fixed… but really, it could have been worse. I could have gotten a horrible phone call from a loved one, my family could be sleeping outside somewhere with no roof or running water, we all could be hungry…  it could have been worse.
And then this morning came….

Cameron was so sweet this morning…  We were making a video to send to Ben wishing him a better day and to let him know we love him. Cameron saw my bra on the fall and wanted to get his picture taken with it. Why not! I do remember my big brother taken a photo wearing my mother’s bra and cowboy boots. And he turned out to be normal.   =)     Cameron said “Mom, look, Im wearing your boobie skirt!”  I almost cried I laughed so hard.

He then took the camera from me and started taking photos just around the house. He showed me a little bit after everything he took… photos of the dog’s tail, one of my belly button, photo of the guy on the tv, his shoe, and then a pitch black one. I asked what the black one was and so sweetly, Cameron looked at me, and said “I took a photo of the dark”.   That time I just cried.

How sweet and innocent kids see the world. I hate that it goes away after many scraped knees and broken hearts.

Life is hard… but the blessed little moments are so so worth it all!!

Half Birthdays!!

Today is my dad's half birthday!!!

My dad is so so handsome and really amazing. I could not have asked for better parents. Today he is 50 and a half! I'm sure I will cry later tonight thinking about it...  as I did on his 50th birthday. I did not celebrate or get him anything 6 months ago because I would not accept him getting older.  Feel a little bad about it now, but it just wasn’t ok with me. I wasn’t ready yet.

He was our provider for as well as I can remember. He never forgot to pick me up from swimming practice and make me walk home in the Iowa snow! He loves his TV and would let me cuddle up with him, calling me his “belly warmer”. After school, sports, then work, I sometimes would not get home till after 10 at night… and my dad would still get all the food back out and cook me supper in bed.

He was a dad that never left… he was home every night to make sure us kids got home every night.

My dad is a very special man who was raised by very very special parents. He was strong when he needed to be, and gentle when we needed him to be. He is more than words could say.

Happy Half Birthday Dad… love you to the moon and all the way back!!

Surprise!!!

Happy Taco Tuesday!! Which I did eat for lunch and it was amazing!  =)

Since Sara has now let the cat out of the bag…

Question ~ why would you want to put a cat in a bag? And how would you without getting yourself cut up by the cat?   Seems like a silly thing to do, putting a cat in a bag but whatever floats your boat.   =)
Question ~ what does that mean? Water is the only thing floating my boat… maybe some oil if it got spilled but it’s not like I sail around on rocks in my boat.   =)

Anyway… since my little secret is now out… I can say that I am not just getting fat, there is a baby in my belly!  I am 16 weeks along today. Due date is Aug 9th for everyone who doesn’t do math.   =)

The baby is about the size of an avocado and can still fit in the palm of my hand, but barely. I was pretty freaked out about all these changes at first but I’m getting excited now. I have a little 4 ½ year old boy is getting board as well. He said the other week that they baby can have a piece of his birthday cake in July, but just a little piece.  Hey, it’s a start!!

Was scared to tell people at work but what was I thinking!! There is an amazing group of girls here who are so excited for me and I think are really going to help me get through the next couple of months. I really feel lucky to have them here to vent to and start getting closer with.  I won’t even mind them poking at my belly!

I'm sure there is be much more happy milestones and frustrations to come...  stay toned.   =)
